One World Day

Join us in the British Garden for the 76th Annual One World Day celebration, hosted by the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation, in partnership with University Circle, and many others. This is THE cultural event of the year! All the gardens work together to make this a day that celebrates the incredible diversity of Cleveland and to promote the Federation’s motto of “peace through mutual understanding.”

Jane Austen Tea

You are cordially invited to join the Daughters of the British Empire for an afternoon tea inspired by Jane Austen and the Regency era. The Tea will take place in the beautiful, historic Toledo Club's Corinthian Room. We will be serving Twinings tea, in individual pots. Assorted tea sandwiches, and sweets, including scones imported from England.

We also will have gift baskets to be raffled and a 50/50 raffle.
We are a philanthropic group, raising funds for charity, including a local charity.
I hope you can join us!

British Garden Work Day

Spring is springing! Hope you can join us for a big Spring clean-up!

  • Bring gloves and rakes if you have them and things to weed with.

  • Clippers and loppers might be needed!

  • We will have water and something like protein bars to keep our energy up.

  • The Greenhouse should be open, so we should have access to restrooms if needed.

Volunteers will meet at the British Garden starting at 9.30 am. Please come when you can and stay as long as you are able. We usually end the day around 2:00 pm. Please contact Sally Goodall for more information. (If you need to reach her on the day, she will be available via phone.)

Sherlock Holmes Tea

Featuring an English-style tea with tea sandwiches, scones, and sweets, gift basket raffles, a silent auction, and a Victorian Spiritualist demonstration inspired by ones attended by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Period dress and hats encouraged; no jeans or shorts.

$35 per person, must be paid in advance as seats are very limited. Social distancing will be observed. Ticket-holders must agree to be seated with others, if not from your household.

Annual Council Meeting

The 101st Annual Council Meeting of the Daughters of the British Empire in Ohio is a celebration of all the incredible work of our non-profit yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Join the ladies of Ohio for their annual meeting at their new, central location: the Gideon Owen Wine Company (formerly Mon Ami)!

Registration is due 3/5. Please contact your Regent for your registration form.
